Be Present

Sup?

I’ve been in lots of meetings. On average, they are a HUGE pain. I don’t care if you are just attending them, or holding them, or avoiding them, I’m going to tell you how you can make it better.

Meetings are a real thing people have to deal with on a regular basis. You can make the most of your day by doing one simple thing. Focus on the meeting. Be present. Don’t spend the meeting getting ready for it. Don’t spend the end of the meeting prepping for the next one.

Be in the meeting.

Still need time to get ready for it?

Book a 10 minute prep event before and after your meeting. These 20 minute bookends allow you to handle the details required to focus on the high value matter at hand.

Do your thinking outside of the meeting and save meetings for communicating that thinking.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Or don’t. Not my meeting. Maybe you should audit your network. If you want additional tips on how to stand out with brilliant people, read this.
