Privacy Settings 101: How To Hide Your Facebook Friends List

With the new Facebook privacy settings now in effect, by default your friends list is now public for all to see. This may not be an issue for you, but is not desired for some. If you for some reason don’t want who is in your friends list to be in the public view of everyone, here are the steps to hide it.

1. Log into facebook

2. Click on profile

3. In the box on the left titled ‘Friends’ click on the pencil.

4. Uncheck the ‘Show my friends on my profile’ box

5. Click the pencil again

There you have it, stalker dodgin’ complete. Your friends list is hidden. Please share this link, the life you save could be your own.

I received a tremendous email today. Here is a segment.

seanolivered (verb): Being told that you have a great personality and everyone loves you, but if you ever want to get promoted, you need to be a lot less you.
Example: “Crichton had a great mid-year review, until the last 5 minutes, when she was unexpectedly Seanolivered”

Now, this is a lot funnier if you know me, or if you have worked for me, but what it means is that I’M NOT ALONE, I WAS SIMPLY FIRST. God, I laughed so hard. Corporate American wasps. Pure comedy.

Perception and reality. Brains in vats, or how do we meet anyone that we like.

I have met people. I have met people I like. In fact, I like most people I meet. People who know me, that is to say, people who have been exposed to me for a protracted period of time long enough to accept or simply ignore my flaws, tend to like me.

Like. Liking. I used to think that I really enjoyed people similar to me. Individuals that I had lots in common with. As I got older, I considered that I may be attracted to people that were simply my polar opposite. But honestly, I think I like people that like me. This can lead to some odd chicken vs egg timing issues. I guess I just need to play the numbers, and stop thinking about it. I’m going for a run.

I know that many of you were worried about my friend that was raped/attacked back in January. I just wanted to let you know that everything is ok now. As it turns out, the attack/rape didn’t happen at all, it was all a clever ruse. I was fooled, but the truth came out. The good thing is that I found out, got to fire my friend, and got to let go of all the stress of something that didn’t happen.

My best friend put it best when he said “Well thank God something that horrible didn’t really happen to someone you knew!”

I received the best gift ever from her, the gift of finding out she didn’t exist.

One Holiday Down, Three though, I’m More To Go

So, I spent Thanksgiving with my best friend, his wife, and his folks. Its the same thing I did last year. Its always good to see him, his wife is hilarious, and his mom and step dad are sweethearts.

There was much was much eating, laughing and shopping.

The only thing that sucked was the 4 hrs drive. I have to say, I am mad jealous of his the family set up.

How To Win Friends

So I was talking to a friend today, and she mentioned that I come off as the following: An ass, a bit abrasive, a bit harsh, etc.

She mentioned that I could probably communicate more effectively and appropriately.

She is right. My struggle has always been how i package my reaction to ridiculous things people say, and do. Everyday folks blow my mind, and I have a hard time concealing my surprise, or contempt. Any tips?

I am getting ready to drive out of town. I am going to go meet 10 of my closest friends, and we are going to have our fantasy football draft. If you don’t know what fantasy football is, perform a google search on the term. Or read my one sentence explanation.

Fantasy football is the grown man jock version of Dungenons and Dragons. Instead of, “My level 3 elf now has +1 upgraded damage” we say that “Your Terrell Owens will be NO MATCH for my Peyton Manning this Sunday”.

Sad, but 16 weeks of TREMENDOUS fun.
