I just found this link that has all the Christmas catalogs from 1979 to 1986. All the toys I lusted after a wee little boy are here. Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future, MASK, ThunderCats. I smiled when I saw my favorite toy ever, the GI Joe Shuttle Complex. This was a massive space shuttle/launch pad toy that back in 1986, when I was 8, cost $134.99. I BEGGED my mom to get it for me. I promised the moon, and she delivered not quite the stars, but at least a space shuttle to get all my Joe’s to it.
I can’t believe she spent that much money on a kid. Remarkable.
